A sharpie drawing from my brand new sketchbook. Staring at a blank page is intimidating and a whole new sketchbook is even worse.

A mall from my sketchbook. I am obsessed with public spaces and their ‘mood’. This is an attempt to draw a mall from my imagination. As a kid I hung out at the mall a lot but to be fair then the mall had bookstores, hobby shops, etc. so there was more appeal then now. Now I would rather spend my time anywhere else then the mall. Still every time I eat a big pretzel it takes me back to my youth and those amazing carpeted spaces of capitalism.

Doodle of trailer living room from my sketchbook. With this sort of drawing I’m just trying to imagine environments and make them look interesting. These are drawn in ink with a Pentel Japanese sign pen. It makes a nice bold line, doesn’t bleed through my sketchbook and has a little bit of ‘give’ to the line.

I picked up a couple of martial arts movies today. How can this not be an awesome movie? The cover design alone was worth the price. I haven’t watched it yet and I want to make an unauthorized comic adaption!

More cyberpunk from my sketchbook. ‘A joeboy with vat-grown, grafted muscle’ -I think that’s the line from a William Gibson novel. Whatever a joeboy is.

From my sketchbook. Some pre-work cyberpunk manga doodle. I’ve been on a ‘80s vibe lately. I think seeing still of the new X-Men movie (and it’s mall) may have planted the deadly seed of nostalgia in my brain.
