I thought I would share this for any fellow comic book artists. I made this template from a date holder in an old calendar. The holes are the same proportions as a comic page and are two sizes of thumbnails and my ‘tough’ size. I can snap this in the rings of my sketchbook so it’s always with me and I can easily fill a page of my sketchbook with thumbnails or roughs using this.

Today I spent all morning get Michelle & I’s cars service so I spent longer than hoped at the dealership. I took my small sketchbook and did a couple pages of figures plus a sketch of the parts/service area. I did the blue figures at home in my larger sketchbook. So in class yesterday I made the comment ‘forearms kill me’ because they are hard to understand and I could fake it, but people that know can always spot people who fake it. So today I decided screw that, forearms aren’t going to beat me. It’s only a few muscles and a couple bones, that’s not going to to stop me from achieving my goals. So tonight I drew this. It’s not perfect and I don’t have it memorized but I will.

I woke up early this morning and did a little doodle of the living room while I was drinking some coffee. This was done in my sketchbook with a sharpie with no pencil under drawing. I think these sort of drawings are very useful in training your eye to see the hidden lines of perspective and will help you when you want to draw more formal perspective drawings. I enjoy drawing directly with a sharpie because it is very quick and forces you to think about your line before you lay it down.

My cover rough for my class project for ‘Intro to Comic Art’. I’ve shared all my steps and I really appreciate all the support and encouragement I’ve gotten through this process. Thanks you for every 'like’, retweet, whatever. It really means the world to me. I am getting ready to start the final few weeks of class and this is where it all comes down to the wire. I’m finishing up my class project and the goal is to make three pages that are 'Pro Quality’. I’ve learned a lot in class and I am confident I can make something amazing.
