San Diego Comicon Sails Pavilion from my sketchbook. The big convention is this week and I’m not going. I went for about 10 years but I haven’t been in a few. It’s a fun show, but it’s gotten too expensive for the return for me, I’d rather spend my time & money going to smaller shows where you have more access to editors & fellow creators. Still SDCC is a fun trip and I hope one day I can justify returning professionally. This drawing is the Sails Pavillion above the main floor, this is facing north. In the ‘00s this is where you got general tickets (seen in the background). To the right, smaller publishers and game companies would hold portfolio reviews. My buddy Dave is in the foreground.
