Today weirdellis and I went downtown and checked out the abandoned bank in the liberty national building. There was an article in the paper about how the ownership of the building is in dispute and it’s basically falling apart. The lobby was huge and there is bronze details everywhere. Check out the carving on this cashier window. We took the elevator to the 14th floor. It looked like it had been empty for 20+ years. Downtown Okc is in the middle of a boom, but the land some buildings are sitting on is worth more than the building. There is talk about what to do with this building, it’s beautiful, but it would take a pile of money to fix it and with oil prices plunging owners might have trouble getting tenants.
