Looking for paper, I found an old sketch pad with the first comic sample I drew from a Marvel script. This is a 14x17 Grumbacker sketchbook. I think I drew this around ‘09. Marvel didn’t hire me but the submissions editor at the time, Bon Alimagno, was super helpful and I we’d up sending him samples for about 6 months. I consider this the start of my comic career.

Ink doodles of the ‘90s X-Men in my sketchbook. My Gambit is a little dodgey, I’m sure he’s off model, but I was going from memory. I know he used to smoke & had a rattail. Drawn with a pentel sign pen, my favorite sketching pen.

A page of gestures drawn for the X-Men trading cards Marvel put out in the ’90s. Drawn by the amazing Jim Lee, I found these when I got back into comics and they really captured my imagination and I still find them very interesting.
